Welcome to Toronto. You know, it usually takes me a good 3 weeks to settle into a new place. To get accustomed to your surroundings, to get into your daily groove uno? The past few weeks i've been an incredible lazy SLOB. No jokes, me and my couch have bonded like no other, and i keep flipping up and down the total of THREE channels i have. The weird thing is that the three channels I DO have (CBC, CTV, and Global) - i have all across Canada. So i end up being able to watch Days of Our Lives in Victoria, BC at 7pm. Speaking of Days - does anyone know what's going on??! They're all not dead, including Marlena?! It this the work of Stefano??! (gasp, egads)
I've gotten the chance to venture out to explore my surrounding area lots, though - it's so much fun getting lost in all the meandering residential roads and jogging paths! Ooh, and everytime I see cheap gas (cheap as in less than 90 cents/L) i get all excited and start calling all my friends who have cars to give them the "tip." hahaha
But the cool thing is just observing the people in my community. Early last week, I visited my nearby community center. As I walked along the sports field, I watched fathers playing catch with their sons, a bunch of teenagers playing ultimate frisbee, little league field hockey coaches huddling with their students, etc. etc. I also peeked into a senior citizen's line dancing class! (dos e doe your partner round and round...haha) It's just all feels like it's out of a weird made-for-tv movie. This is LIFE, you know? Families, and old people, and young people and everyone...doing life together.
And I, I am the great observer. For now.
