Making Toronto Passionate...

Just got back from the Passion Worship concert, held for the first time in Canada. I thank God that he nudged me to come, because i was soo close to not going. But I needed it. I needed the fire to be re-lit underneath me, and i needed to be reminded that God sits on the throne.

I really believe that God is doing something awesome in our generation. It all started about three years ago, when I was in 2nd year university and a whole bunch of people in KCCF started having this "brain fart" (as vivien hon put it) to unite our campus together under one Name for an evening. First Love was born out of this, and from there I saw God feeding a fire in the hearts of so many 06's and 07's....and they began praying everyday together, worshipping every night, evangelism on the street, etc.

What i thought was unique to Queen's, i soon realized was happening across multiple campuses in Canada. Talking to Sam Chui, they've been having the same vision out in Western Canada. Then coming to Toronto, there are just so many people who are on the same wavelength. And suddenly, it became clear tonight at Passion that God hears and sees our generation, and is going to use us to change the world.

You know the song, "Give Us Clean Hands"?

Oh God let us be a generation who seeks,
who seeks your face, oh God of Jacob.

And give us clean hands, give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another.

I love this song, because it represents the cry of our generation...a longing to live boldly, and to breathe new life into the traditions of religion. Ours is a movement, of which music is its loudest testament but praise will be our strongest foundation.
