Well, today marks the end of another chapter in my...um...resume. It's my last official day of work! On a scale of 1-10, I can definitely say that working at the Canadian Embassy ain't too shabby. Yesterday, I sat in an audience amongst heads of state, prominent leaders, intellectuals, lawyers, and other professionals to watch Prime Minister Paul Martin give his first speech as PM before an American audience. My favourite part: observing the journalists gathering in the special "media area" doing their thing, and watching the secret service (is that what we call them in Canada? I have no idea) stand authoritatively with wires coiling from their ear pieces down their necks (i love those things - looks so spy'ish) clasping their hands together in front of their bodies in a soldier stance.
Coolest quote from one journalist to another: "I haven't seen you since Prague!"
