Ever feel like there's this huge stinkin' FOOT that's stuck in your mouth?? All those in favour raise your hands!


So tonight there's this event called "Le Grande Soiree de Francophonie" and it's basically this event that's being held at the French embassy to showcase French culture. I'm a volunteer, and earlier this week I had to attend the infosession....when i got there, it felt like i was in a totally different world! Everyone was assumed to be Francophone so all the instructions were being given in French...and seriously, they could've been talking about sticking straws up their noses and it STILL would've sounded completely sophisticated!!

Everyone I come in contact with is SO well traveled that I feel totally "uncouthe and uncultured" beside them. There's this girl who works at the Embassy and i'm just so impressed with her. Usually I reserve the word *charming* for guys, but this girl has got it in spades! You just have to start a conversation with her and she is so interesting...she has been to so many places in the world, and was telling me about how she spent time living in France which is how she learned French. Can you imagine? She just decided to go over there, and traveled to all these tiny little towns in the countryside where people were so friendly.....but yup, it's cool to meet all these interesting people and i wish i was as good a storyteller as they are! But alas, the more i meet these amazing people the more i realize that i'm just a small trout swimming in the ocean....
